Abstract

This bibliographic note analyzes the collective volume Lingüística histórica del español, published by Routledge in 2024, in connection with the most recent literature on the subject. It discusses the scope of current heuristic models in the history of the Spanish language and historical syntax, including discourse traditions, linguistic variation, the poles of distance and immediacy, the sociolinguistics of koineization, and processes of grammaticalization. Additionally, the note highlights the signi!cance of these epistemological approaches, providing theoretical insights aimed at re!ning their application to the study of diachronic phenomena.
