Abstract
Este artículo explora el papel del factor empresarial y su importancia en la economía, enfatizando la hetero- geneidad de los agentes que participan en la función empresarial. Se distingue entre el autoempleo, en general, y el emprendimiento de alto impacto, argumen- tando que una promoción del autoempleo orientada al crecimiento debe conseguir que aquellos individuos con el talento potencial para desarrollar proyectos innova- dores y orientados al mercado opten por emprender, en detrimento del trabajo por cuenta ajena. Se destaca la relevancia de cierto tipo de talento y la necesidad de políticas que no solo promuevan la densidad del tejido, sino también su calidad. Finalmente, se plantea la im- portancia de diseñar un contexto favorable y estraté- gicamente orientado hacia el emprendimiento de alto impacto –ecosistema de emprendimiento– como motor de crecimiento y factor de competitividad regional
