Abstract

All historical phenomenons have its context. This is the whole conditions making it possible and allowing to understand its times and process, and also its real impact. This paper treats on the context of an important event for the current masculinity and feminity configuration: the Seneca Falls Convention. A close reading of a recent Henry D. Thoreau´s biography by Laura Dassow Walls will let the reader to know a pacthwork of women´s lifes of Concord (Massachusetts) near 1848.
