Abstract
Radon is a radioactive gas constituting the largest source of natural radioactivity to which we are exposed. Radon can be breathed and its presence in high concentrations inside room, workplaces, subways, mines, tunnels. Radon is considered by international regulations as a risk to human health (Radon is the second cause of lung cancer, after smoking, as the World Health Organization has noted). From this point of view, measurements of radon concentration in air acquire a special significance. This work will deal with development and calibration of methods for the measurement of indoor radon and its application to the determination of the concentration in several places at the Extremadura region.
