Résumé

This thesis is born from my interest to know about the studies related to the preparation of Physical Education teachers and thus help in improving this discipline at University Level in Mexico, because until now, such researches have been conducted merely in Normal Schools. The methodological design used in this research is quantitative, not experimental, transversal and descriptive, for which a questionnaire was administered to 358 teachers from several Universities in Mexico. One of the objectives was to know the opinion of teachers on the training received at his alma mater, related to their graduate profile and professional performance. The questions were related to the relevance and suitability of the curriculum received in class, and what content should be considered the greatest burden in the curricula of institutions for Physical Education or related field in Mexico. Another important question for this study was to determine whether teachers in the sample had practiced federated sport before admission to graduate studies. The results show us that more than 85% of teachers in the survey practiced federated sports in some category. About 80% of the sample values between "quite a bit" and "a lot" the adequacy of the theoretical, practical and pedagogical knowledge of Physical Education received at their institution. Finally, a significant percentage believes that the curricula of training institutions should include more tutored practical-hours in schools.
