Abstract

The initial teacher training is structured around skills development plans according to new European study. In this regard, in recent years it has highlighted the need to include media competence in initial and continuing training of teachers. Those teachers stand as facilitators and guarantors of achieving media literacy of citizens whose acquisition starts from the earliest ages. Through a brief review of the literature presented in this paper a draft evaluation tool self-perceived level of media competence by teachers derived from the documentary analysis around two basic themes: Analysis of key competencies targeted in primary source documents for effective prosumers teachers and curriculum analysis for the proposed UNESCO to achieve MIL and the recommendations of the European Commission in which the construction of the evaluation instrument presented is based.
