Abstract

This thesis analyzes, based on the mainstreamíng principie applied to public policies, those polícíes targeted at attention to dependency, in particular Law 39/2006, december 14th about Personal Autonomy Development and Attention to People in a Oependency Situation (LAPAD) within the context of Spain and Andalusia in particular. lnvestigation results revea! that although LAPAD has sorne gaps and deficiencies that could be fixed (essentially about the application of the mainstreaming principie, sorne proposats for tts improvement are included) as a whole it means a sizeable forward move in lessening the gender inequalities by rising job and empowerment opportunities for women both caregivers and receivers.
