Resum

One of the research aims on Mathematical Education is to identify the difficulties found in concept comprehension and to build solutions to support them.Sometimes these difficulties have their origin on the knowledge of other mathematical concepts. Three mathematical elements have found whose understanding have strong influence on the knowledge construction for the First Order Ordinary Differential Equation concept. This papers shows the results ofan initial diagnostictest of the understanding of the equation concept, as a part of a prevention plan designed to minimize the difficulties that appear when learning differential equations. This analysis shows some student misconceptions about equation concept that make difficult the building of the differential ordinary equation. Finally, it is proved that the initial diagnosis is a useful tool for the teaching and learning of the First Order Ordinary Differential Equation concept.
