Abstract

This thesis examines the origin and evolution of Educational Guidance Teams in Spain and the status of guidance in the period before the General Education Law (LGE) of 1970. We review the concept of guidance from antiquity to the present. This also describes the differences in various regions and how the transfer of competencies in the educational field makes each territory legislate independently, appearing in each, a mosaic of many different models. These differences developed in Andalusia, as such, it is the context where our research takes place. We study the Guidance Plan for Andalusia, due to its vital role in redefining services and proposals, structure and levels of guidance. Finally we focus attention on the province of Huelva. From a theoretical perspective the orientation and relationship between teaching and education is justified and analyzed from a professional, vocational, scholarship and personal approach. We outline further research on the subject by other authors in different contexts, to engage in the study of Educational Guidance Teams in the province of Huelva.
