Resum

The Skellefte mining distric is one of the most important mining regions in Sweden, located in the Proterozoic island-arc (1.90-1.87 Ga) of the Baltic Shield, Northern Sweden. Three main intrusive stages have been determined in the Jörn Granitoid Complex (JGC). The first stage of GI tonalites (1885 Ma) includes the satellite intrusions and with calc-alkaline character; the second stage (1875 Ma) corresponding to the alkaline-calcic GII (granodiorites and qz-monzodiorites) intrusions and associated Näsbeerget layered intrusions; finally the granites and GIII and GIV intrusive facies are systematic, regarding to mineralogy, texture, alteration, metamorphism, lithogeochemical character and age. In particular, the lithogeochemical differences suggest an important variation in the magma type.
