Resum

This dissertation presents a study on contemporary US Puerti Rican narrative as a literary discourse which represents the diasporic experience of Puerto Ricans. This discourse brings center stage the different geographies of Puerto Rican identity. The narrative becomes am aesthetic space where this fluid identity becomes a bridge between cultures. The relationship between the subject, space and nation is a complex one which is explored in this study through the analysis of textual elements which are a product of hibridization. Some of the authors which are covered Piri Thomas, Nicholasa Mohr, Judith Ortiz Cofre, Esmeralda Santiago, Abraham Rodríguez Jr. Ed Vega, Ernesto Quiñonez, Aurora Levins Morales y Rosario Morales.
