This research is a study on the importance and the treatment given to the University of Huelva in the newspapers «Huelva Information», «Odiel» and «El Mundo Huelva Noticias» during the years 2002-09. What we want, in short, is to analyze the vision projected local press onubense academic institution through the news spread in its pages. Our starting point we place on the consideration that the media are opinion makers and reflect, to a greater or lesser extent, the feeling of the general public. We also believe that the brand «University» has a higher value in Huelva society that the university may have in other provinces of Andalusia because their particular way of building in this city. The methodology undertaken for this study was based on the quantitative technique of content analysis.
