Abstract

The catalytic nitrene transfer reaction from copper- or silver-metal centers constitutes the main goal of this Ph. D. Thesis, the metalonitrene species being in situ generated using PhI=NTs ([N-(p-tolylsulfonyl)]- phenyliodinane) as the nitrene source. After a general Introduction, the Thesis consists of three Chapters devoted to mechanistic studies on the olefin aziridination reaction (Chapter I) as well as to the use of this methodology to the synthesis of 1,2-dihydropyridines (Chapter II) and aminimides (Chapter III).
