Abstract

Studying the processes and learning methods which come from specific trendy music such as Rock or Pop, allows us to define how certain informal knowledge is currently acquired. These cross-cultural music hits occupy mass media, and even though they are highly influential in cultural, social and economical aspects, they are far from being included in the formal educational processes. Therefore, this learning method is normally found in non- formal and informal settings. Although popular musicians are immersed in arbitrary and random formative processes, they do present high levels of satisfaction and skills. Each one of them must face their learning methods from an autonomous point of view, accessing the resources and models they have within their reach, and this means that collaboration is very important. Throughout a discursive analysis, a case study has been developed around some specific trainings, where passion -as found in many other artistic experiences- has a crucial role.
