Zusammenfassung

New tecnologies are opening unknown chances to human knowledge researchers. Since a few time Computing and Humanities were seen as distant disciplines. Using computers was merely a tool for typewritting and only databases and graphic programs were considered as useful. Nevertheless a time-consuming trainning disregarded them. Computers were perceived rather as foes than tools. In the last two or three years mainly with multimedia and Internet bursting, things have started to change. Now the true problem is how new researchers can be trained properly to reach an adecuate level in new technologies. Stakes face time-consuming, high economic and personal costs to many scholars. Computerizing chances in the young discipline of Codicology are very interesting specially since a high capacity, cheap hardware is available( CD-ROM, new DVD). High cost in traditional codex publishing (paper) because of their coloured parts, cartularies, documental collections and various textual sources prevents the edition of many of them. Researchers often have only catalogues with general description forcing to long and expensive lodging at researching centers. Scanners, digital cameras, laser printers, CD-ROM recorders are now ordinary tools among some scholars. They are spreading quickly thanks to low cost and higher quality. Digitalized image with good resolution, 256 colours and flexible sizes-adecuate to our requirements- are the alternative feature in publishing historical sources in CDROM. This paper collects our experience in image treatment focussed in publishing codex in CD-ROM and a possible Internet-based dissemination due to a cost reduction which enables researchers to handle them.
