Abstract

In recent years, the number of golf courses has increased exponentially in many tourist destinations, which has generated a public debate about the environmental impact of these installations, in an attempt to reconcile economic development with respect for the natural environment. Besides, Andalusia has become the main destination for this type of tourists in Spain. This paper aims to define the institutional environment with implications for environmental management practices of these organizations. To do so, a theoretical model has been developed, and its contrast has been carried out using the Partial Least Square (PLS) technique.
