Resumo

The pressure field generated by an ultrasound transducer in a large shallow water lake has been characterized. The detection of the acoustic signal has been performed by a mobile probe, incorporating a measuring remote system. An algorithm to calculate the pressure and intensity levels, using local plane wave approximation, has been implemented in the hydrophone. The decrease of signal intensity with distance is close to a cylindrical propagation model modified by a correction factor, which can be attributed to the reflections around the enclosure.
