Abstract

The current knowledge about the water cycle in the city of Onoba Aestuaria has revolved almost entirely around its underground aqueduct, perhaps better, to the more than one hundred meters of galleries that until recently were known (Rufete y García, 1996). Only in recent times, due to the urban development of the last decades, have some studies of a general nature been established that have !ad the foundations from which to continue deepening (Campos Carrasco, 2011; Delgado Aguilar, 2016). So, the present work raises, in a somewhat more specific way, a synthesis on the system of collection and supply of water in Onoba. In this context, new hypotheses are established on the layout of the underground galleries as well as their arrival in the city and subsequent distribution, taking into account each and every one of the elements related to this cycle existing in the urban topography not only of Roman times, but also modern and contemporary, historical periods in which a part of this set of hydraulic infrastructures was kept in use.
