Abstract
This paper, basically tries to determine the optimum policies forthe management of two fisheries resources of unequal importance, exploited by intercoastal vessels of theSouth Atlantic Region: the anchovy (Engraulis encrasicholus), and the mackerel (Scombe spp.). In both cases, the state of the resource has been valuated, estimating for it,, fishing volume and other fundamental biological factors, utilizing statistical techniques within the family of algorithms that combine simulations ofMontecarlo and chains of Markov, and that are usuallydesigned under the heading of sampling of Gibbs. Under the consideration of fishing stocks as a non observable variable, many different stock -recruitment (state-measure) models have been estimated, allowing the valuation of the resources. Incorporating these results into the correct bio-economic model, the problem which arises, is that of controlling in an optimum way the fishery under the objective of maximising the flow of present and future benefits generated by it.
