Abstract
Analysis of thirty-eigth samples collected in the Carreras subsystem delimited three sectors: a) The Carreras Channel, with medium and fine sands transported in saltation, low organic matter and high hydrodynamics. The foraminiferal association is dominated by porcellaneous forms, such as Q. oblonga, Q. seminulum or Triloculina oblonga, and some marine forms introduced in suspension; b) the inner channels and channel borders, with sandy-silty-muddy sediments, abundant organic matter and low-moderate hydrodynamics. The most abundant species are Ammonia inflata, Astrononion stelligerum, Elphidium williamsoni and Haynesina germanica and c) the salt marsh, with muddy sediments and very abundant organic matter. The population of this protists is almost exlusively composed by Jadammina macrescens and Trochammina inflata.
