Abstract
In this paper is presented the result of a thesis, where the main problems were limited heritage integration, qualitative and quantitative, in the educational process, The work is centred on the analysis of usual professional knowledge in Social Studies about heritage education. Through these studies we can determine the pedagogical heritage content knowledge, elaborating a progress hypothesis on three levels that leads the investigation. Finally, this analysis permits the detection of some obstacles in reaching the third level in the progress hypothesis, in relation with heritage epistemology, methodology and the aims for teaching it
