Abstract
In the Late Middle-Ages, the Ponce de León were one of the main noble families in Andalusia. In this article we present a bibliographic survey which shows how information on the history of their lineage has been gathered over the last two centuries. We analyse the different studies, grouping them according to content: genealogy, political andniilitary roles, economic relationships, religiosity, artistic patronage, andhistoriography of the nobility. In addition, we indicate certain issues, the study of which, we believe, could lead to new unes of research
