Abstract

The sedimentary filling of the Guadalquivir Basin along its central seetor during Tortonian consists of fluvial/deltaic facies, whieh are recurrently eut by several transgressive pulses. The study of the sequential arragement of these deposits, also called Transgressive Basal Complex, lead us to differentiate three relative orders of transgressive-regressive cyclicity: minor, intermediate and mayor order cycles. The basie building blocks are the "fundamental sequenees" whieh are associated to intermediate order cycles. Controlling factors of this sequences can be found among eustatic raises, tectonie activity, climatic changes and relative accumulation rates of sedimentary supply.
