Abstract

This article is a reflection of the importance that the school motivation has for both the students' learning process and academic achievement. The subject is broached trying to answer the next questions: First, we define which in general terms it's known as motivation and show the train theoretical tendencies, nowadays, ruling the researches about this concept. Second and considering the importance that for the students have perceiving themselves as protagonists of their own learning process, it showed the factors which are supposed to be responsables of perceiving the need of learning, and the processes implicated in this decision. Afterthat, it is broached the students interpretations about their academic successes and failures, together with the importance that these interpretations llave for having positive future expectancies. For ending and with the aim of making the students get significative learnings taking as intermediary variable the intrinsec motivation, we are proposing some practical strategies which we hope will be useful for developing academic contents.
