Resumo

This work triest to approach us the knowledge of the work of the school counselors of Secondary Edcuation. For it, the granted importance dimensions of, time of dedication and preparation declared for their exercise have been evaluated 25 roles from. The used methodology has been the survey through questionnaires. The sample been has constituted by all the counselors of Huelva (Spain). As results we found a ranking of roles by each one of the considered dimensions, as well as a comparison of differences between the same ones. Finally, we indicated that the valued roles more are those of adviser of professors, agente of change, communicator, coordinator of resources and consultant.
