Abstract
The presence of cannibalism in Golden Age Fiction reflects, on one hand, a social disorder, and, on the other, a comic matter. Cannibalism is used either from a metaphoric perspective or from a realistic one. The first usage is related to either love or religion as literary matters, whereas the second appears in rather idealistic texts, like chivalry books, tragedies, or also in comic texts, like facecias, novels, comedies of picaresque poetry. The purpose of the article is to analyze the functioning of cannibalism as a topic in Golden Age fiction.
