Abstract

This study analyses the current European Readmission Policy, in particular, readmission agreements of irregular migrants signed by the Union and third states in order to facilitate the readmission of nationals who were apprehended while residing irregularly within the territory of a foreign state, but also third country nationals who transited through their soil. It will be explain the origin and content of the eleven conventions adopted and the compatibility between these agreements and the international and European human rights obligations, mainly, the right to asylum.
