Abstract

The study of Media Literacy is constantly booming because of its relevance to train citizens as regards media and new technolo-gies. It's a young scientific line, born in the 1970s, comprising different meanings ranging from which delve into the reception of the user of the media to which focus on the prosumers, ques-tioning the traditional role of teaching and the role of the education of citizens in their different contexts. The purpose of this contribution is to analyze international high impact journals that publish the results of research on Media Literacy in order to obtain an overview of the deve-lopment and international impact of this scientific topic.
