Abstract
The role of some criminologists and psychiatrists in the Spanish Civil War is analyzed. The control of the Spanish University was in the most mediocres and extremists hands, while people who stood out by their intellectual interests were executed or had to resign themselves to a Latin American exile, leaving their mark in major Latin American Universities.
