Abstract

It is difficult to find in a private Archive a hige, valuable and rich documental collection such as the one made up of the originals Privilegios Rodados which is watched over in the Ducal Archive of Medinaceli. Nearly a hundred of original scrolls characterized by the typical “rueda” or circular signum regis from the Castile-Leon monarchs -from Alfonso VII to Enrique IV, practically uninterrupted- constitute the collection of the most solemn and with greatest structural formality documents which were sent by the royal Chancellery troughout the Middle Ages.
