Resumen

Este artículo revisa la concepción del valor en economía y antropología. Muestra que entre estas disciplinas ha habido un distanciamiento debido a diferencias metodológicas y al tema de estudio, sobre todo cuando los hechos económicos se estudian desde el punto de vista puramente individual y se omite el marco cultural e institucional. En los últimos años ha habido una reconciliación a través del pensamiento institucionalista, que se nutre de otras ciencias sociales, da mayor realismo a los modelos económicos y hace posible interpretar mejor la complejidad del mundo económico.
