Abstract

Since the 1980s, different manifestations of the carnival have appeared in the provinces of Huelva, Cadiz and the rest of Andalusia. Now, in Huelva, the "concurso de agrupaciones" ("cuartetos", "murgas" or "chirigotas", and "comparsas") has consolidated as the main and more emblematic event of the "Carnaval Colombino". This article deals in particular with the "popurri" in "murgas"or "chirigotas", a piece made to be seen and heard, and in whose elaboration uses musics from the most diverse origins.
