Abstract
The evolution of the EU integrated pollution prevention and control shows the search for effective and efficient regulatory solutions that allow the attainment of environmental objectives at the lowest possible cost. The European Semester process involves a new context of economic governance in which the EU integrated pollution prevention and control policy will have to be developed, this contribution includes some reflections on the relevance of considering this new context of governance to analyse the new regulatory prospects in this field.
