Abstract

The classical, lower and middle Cambrian site of Murera (Saragossa province; Cadena lbérica Occidental) was the first palaeontological site to be declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) by the Spanish Administration in 1997. In this paper the main palaeontological characteristics of the site are given. A particular feature is the coexistence of bath skeletal and soft-bodied groups. The palaeoecology of the site is also outlined.
