Resumo

The aim of this work is, first, to analyse and to describe the answers of 402 students of the University of Huelva in an open-ended questionthrough textual analysesand, second, to know whether these answers have any relation with some characteristics of subjectsthrough the technique of lexical specifications. These characteristics were determined through a questionnaire to assess knowledge, attitudes, perceived social norms and perceived behavioral control towards a behavior for AIDS prevention: condom use. The results of textual analyses indicated that subjects' justification of their nonuse of condom rest on stability of their sentimental relations; moreover, the authors report that the questionnaire has unexpected effects on subjects: provides new knowledge to the students and induces to think aboutand to try to changetheir AIDS-risk behaviors, among other considerations
