Abstract

Twenty-two reservoirs of the county of Huelva are studied to analyze the potential radiological impact generated by the AMD in some of them. Some of the samples of the studied reservoirs have a little high natural radioactivity for the uranium isotopes, being values of until 84,66 mBq L-1 of 234U and 38,73 mBq L-1 of 238U. There are high 234U/238U activity ratios (1.3 to 5.4), being able to indicate the existence of preferential dissolution processes in most of the analyzed waters. In connection with the guide values recommended by the OMS for natural readionuclides, in any of the samples they are exceeded. They are not surpassed in all the reservoirs the established investigation levelsof the Nuclear Security Council for 234U and 238U.
