Resumen
Forban Island is located on the center of the Ambodifotatra Estuary, in the west coast of Sainte Marie Island in Madagascar. This island was the headquarter of an important pirate activity in the late XVII and early XVIII centuries and there operate famous captains as Kidd or Labusse. From this headquarter the pirates controlled the navigation of commercial ships which travelled across the Indian Ocean to the Cape of New Hope passing nearly Sainte Marie coasts. Different documents suggest that in Forban Island would be one buried or more treasures. In march 2015 an archaeophysic prospection was conducted to locate possible anomalies related with the pirate activity in the island. To get this objective Ground-Penetration Radar techniques and an Abem-Wady very low frequency sound. This prospection obtained positive results in some of the profiles. Finally an important treasure was found by Malagasy authorities.
