Abstract

This thesis called Media Literacy, Digital Literacy and Quality in Virtual Postgraduate Programs in Central America develops the theoretical, epistemological and methodological basis to enable the implementation of media literacy (EDUCOMU) and digital literacy (ALFADIG) indicators in models of evaluation and self-evaluation of the quality in virtual postgraduate courses in the Central American region. From a theoretical framework focused on digital humanism, critical and disruptive pedagogies, the areas of opportunity offered by EDUCOMU and ALFADIG in improving the quality of virtual postgraduates’ programs, which justify their recognition and incorporation as indicators in both self-assessment and quality assessment models, for Central American virtual postgraduate programs. This study develops a qualitative methodology, of an explanatory and interpretive type, from phenomenology y grounded theory. As a result of this research, a proposal for formulation on EDUCOMU and ALFADIG indicators will be formulated, useful for self-assessment and quality assessment models of virtual postgraduate degrees in Central America.
