Abstract
The disappeared castle of the Huelva town of Ayamonte is undoubtedly one of the most unique and representative heritage references of its historical evolution. Located on the hill that dominates the population from the north, in the original neighborhood of La Villa, it strategically controlled the mouth of the Guadiana River and the adjacent coast, in the place that today occupies the National Tourism Parador. Based on the set of documents that time has bequeathed us and have been compiled, this text aims to make a new contribution to the complex process of its construction history, from its late medieval origin in the thirteenth century to its unfortunate demolition in the sixties. of the last century
