Abstract

This PhD Thesis addresses the synthesis of new copper and gold complexes bearing alcoxydiaminiphosphine ligands (ADAP), and their use as catalyst in carbene transfer reactions towards different organic substrates. It is divided into three chapters. The first one deals with the synthesis and characterization of coordination compounds based on copper and gold with ADAP ligands, as well as preliminary studies to evaluate their catalytic activity in olefin cyclopropanation and functionalization of C-H or N-H bonds by carbene transfer processes. In the second Chapter, the copper complexes are employed as cataysis for the chemo-, regio- and enantioselective functionalization of indoles by carbene transfer. In the third Chapter, para-selective functionalization of mono-substituted arenes using the gold complexes is described.
