Abstract

Violence among young couples is a serious social problem that has important implications for victims´s lives. Therefore, a proper evaluation of the consequences is necessary in order to act early to modify these troubled relationships. A sample of 1800 women participated in the current study, by filling the "Partner violence Questionnaire" (CUVINO). The factorial structure shows 8 kinds of violence (Physical/Phsychological detachment, Emotional/Sexual Punishment, Coercion, Gender, Antisocial/Criminal and Humiliation). The results show the same number of factors than in previous validation research, but with some changes in the nature of those factors. Finally, we discuss about the utility of this evaluation tool aimed at the development of preventive strategies.
