Resum

The population in industrialized societies has shown progressive ageing due to an increase in life expectancy. Alzheimer’s disease is among the pathologies linked to the ageing process. As the number of cases increases significantly, so do family caregivers, leading to more and more children living this reality. The present paper analyzes the psychoeducational consequences for children who have a relative with Alzheimer’s disease. To this end, a questionnaire was drawn up as a tool for gathering information. From the validation and reliability analysis of the questionnaire, first results have shown Chronbach’s Alpha values were not very high although above average. In a subsequent reliability analysis by elements, a selection of the most distorting items was made, which meant a significant increase in reliability. During the process of implementation of the questionnaire, some initial unforeseen observations were made. These will need to be taken into account in the ongoing research. It is remarkable that the educational, social and psychological impact is not the same on boys, girls and adults
