An exploratory study of an innovative resource was carried out: the Augmented Reality Sandbox (AR Sandbox) in theinitial training of secondary school teachers. We wanted to investigate the valuation of the resource by the participants.All this from the educational perspective of modeling, and in particular, from the AR with this resource. The evaluationstudy of the Sandbox RA was based on a quantitative Likert scale questionnaire together with a series of open items tocomplement the evaluation qualitatively. Their analysis showed that the Sandbox RA seems to be a motivating resourcefor teachers in training in teaching and learning processes, they also recognize advantages at a didactic level, althoughcomplexity at a technical and economic level.
