Resumen

The social educator is a key agent for, on the one hand, to prevent juvenile delinquency and on the other hand, put forward the socio-educational intervention of those young people who already have a judicial measure. In this chapter of the book, the situation of juvenile offenders in Spain will be described and the social, educational and educational measures set out in the Organic Law regulating the criminal responsibility of minors (LORPM). First, there will be a legislative background of the situation of the minor offender until today, to continue with the description of each of the current socioeducational measures, as well as the centers created for that purpose. Finally, the figure of the educator will be detailed, as well as his specific labor competencies in the intervention with the minor ofender.
