Abstract

Educational institutions play an important role in the transmission of the cultural valúes most representative of society; among them, models and gender valúes which fulfil an essential function in the construction of the personal and social identities of our students. In the present text, we reflect upon the way musical education is related to the formulation and reformulation of gender policies that concern: the musical education curriculum, classroom strategies, models and references presented to students, the use we make of language, and many other áreas.
