Consumo de esteroides anabolizantes en el fisicoculturismorelaciones con variables del entrenamiento y la imagen corporal

Resumo

São apresentados dados de 150 homens fisiculturistas sobre consumo de esteróides aqnabólicos (EAAs) e suas relações com variáveis de treinamento e imagem corporal. 24,67% reconhecem explicitamente consumir EAAs e mediante o Índice de Massa Corporal magra se chegaria a 36,67% dos participantes. São os que participam de competições que significativamente mostram um maior consumo (Chi2=16,491, p=0,000). Os consumidores reconhecem em maior número que seus amigos são principalmente fisiculturistas (Chi2=9,952, p=0,007). Não se diferenciam em treinar mais que o previsto, nem fora do programado, nem em sentir-se mal nos dias que não treinam; no entanto, os consumidores ficam mais tempo treinando (t=4,658 p=0,000) e treinam mais dias por semana (t=3,466 p=0,001). Igualmente, não há diferenças nos comportamentos como número de vezes que se pesam, se olham no espelho ou pensam que são pequenos e pouco musculosos. No entanto, são esses consumidores que em maior número evitam mostrar o corpo fora do local de treinos (Chi2=6,575 p=0,01) ou se encontram mal ao se compararem fisicamente com outros (Chi2=4,894 p=0,027) mesmo que não se comparam com uma medida maior.
