Abstract

Michel de Certeau (Chambery 1925.París 1086) was a Jesuit thinker in dialogue with the principal currents in the human and social sciences of the second half of the 20th century. This article is a brief presentation of one of his books, L'Etranger ou l'union dans la difference, whose Spanish translation will soon be published in Spain. This work demonstrates better than any other the particular features of Certeau’s spirituality, which is distinguished by the consideration of the other as messenger from God and the recognition of difference as a consubstantial element of the unity which Christians are called to live out.
