Resumo
The humanization of attention, or humanized attention, could be defined as the interaction between the knowledge of science and the values of the human being in order to establish quality assistance centered on the individual. It is common to hear about the humanization of care in many areas of nursing and health, but it is not usual to incorporate this practice into Occupational Health. The present bibliographic review tries to throw a little light on the Humanization of Occupational Health Care, adapting concepts of humanization in other health services to the field of Occupational Health Nursing. Many of the attentions provided in the occupational health consultations are immersed in dehumanization. The lack of time, knowledge about it and attitudes, are the cause of it. To humanize Occupational Health care, a commitment is required from the organizations or institutions providing services, a receptive attitude on the part of the worker and a professional profile adapted and trained to humanize. To this end, the Decalogue of Humanization in Occupational Health is considered, which takes into account aspects such as: making a correct greeting and presentation, using a compressible language appropriate to the characteristics of the worker, encouraging an educated treatment, providing information, explaining each technique and procedure, promote autonomy, preserve the privacy of the worker, respect confidentiality and take into account the attitudes that a nurse must have to achieve humanized attention (tolerance, empathy, respect, fairness, sympathy, authenticity). Thus, with the involvement of professionals and institutions, you can achieve Humanized Care in Occupational Health.
