This is a true story narrated in the first person. The protagonist, Anna, a Polish immigrant who came to Spain for the first time at the age of 23 to find a better a life, is a passionate woman living out the dreams of youth. Here she confronts harsh reality that forces her to live alongside solitude, exclusion and fear. Today, five years on, her story reflects the importance of having a social support network to lessen the basic living costs of any immigrant, as well as shielding her from stress and anxiety, and enabling her to get closer to the kind of life we lead. The significance of Anna's experience enables us to understand the importance of not only accepting immigration as just another phenomenon of our society but also encourages us to be a part of it.
