Resum

The new curricula establish that carrying out a Final Project is required to complete nursing education. This Project allows the student for showing the knowledge and competences acquired during his/her training in a holistic manner. The aim of this paper is to describe type and subject and topics of the Final Projects carried out by the students during the academic courses 2012/13 and 2013/14 at the Red Cross Nursing School (CUECR) and Saint John of God Nursing School (CUESJD), University of Seville. A descriptive, cross-section study is proposed. Sample consisted in 215 Final Projects. They were read analytically considering the variables type and topic. Frequencies were calculated with Microsoft Excel® 2010. The topics were grouped into 20 kinds identified. Mental Health was the most chosen topic, more preferred in the CUECR 6.05%. The second more popular option was Women’s Health, more popular in CUESJD 6.51%. Regarding the type of project, the most chosen type was a program of health education, elected in 29.3% of the cases in a similar way in both centers. The second option was a literature review, used by 21.86% and 5.58% of cases in CUECR and CUESJD. We conclude that the preferences of students about the topic to their Final Project are diverse, highlighting Mental Health and Women Health Nursing. Regarding the type, students prefer to carry out a program of health education or a literature review.
